DSOs including Bars awarded to Commonwealth Air Force personnel plus an unknown but obviously smaller number of DSOs to Fleet Air Arm personnel and British Army personnel engaged in air work. I am currently waiting for a book on FAA awards although experience teaches me that FAA awards will be accompanied by minimal citations, and I will welcome guidance on how to find citations or recommendations on the Army air related DSOs. As far as I can ascertain, every man in the photograph was either killed in action or was taken prisoner. Several died on the Lisbon Maru. There are three names that do not appear on your website, Chacksfield, Chattey and Webber, and two that I can not narrow down to an individual soldier, Hall and Wilson. I have identified the first three and I am still working on the last two. It really is the most remarkable photo.
